I currently live in southern New Jersey with my husband, college-aged son, and Siamese cat.
Life
I continue my pursuit of all things frugal as our family navigates unemployment. It’s a tough time financially, to be sure, but there are so many good things for which to be thankful. In spite of our smaller income, we are living within our means and have managed to pay off three credit cards!
I’m looking forward to a quiet, more contemplative holiday season this year. Seeing the mass consumption and holiday shopping frenzy through the lens of minimalism has really changed the way I want to celebrate the holidays.
Lighter
My husband is volunteering at our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which provides affordable home goods to families in our community who really need them. This has renewed my interest in decluttering.
I’m currently re-evaluating some of the items we own, and donating things that will add value to others more than it will to us. It’s a season of gratitude, and it just feels right to give.
